Logically and realistically, life’s not perfect. It’s never been perfect and it never will be. But it can feel very close to it.
And no matter who you are or what your starting point is, as long as you know where you are now, where you’ve been, where you’d like to go, and how you might go about getting there, it’s very, very possible to get that feeling of life being perfect in all it’s imperfectness.
Here’s a simple exercise to help you get started.
You won’t believe how drawing 4 Simple Lines can be the start of making that journey easily possible…
1. If you had to draw a graph of how you felt on a week to week basis over the last 10 years that you could share with your co-workers, what would it look like?
2. Now, if you did a second graph that was only for you, which showed the truth of how you really felt, deep down, what would it actually look like?
3. And then, if you had to articulate in one sentence what these two graphs reveal to you, what would that be?
4. Now to finish this exercise write a statement of what you have learnt.
Here are some examples to get you started
Now, knowing that life’s not perfect and never will be, how would you like the graph to look? Counter to many motivational speakers and coaches, I’m going to say, “Keep it realistic! ”
Why? Because life is real. And if you want to take everything you can from it, then you need to be real too.
This will give you a clearer picture of your current reality and the life you want to live.
